Hello, I just went to a new ob/gyn today who wrote a prescription for me to start taking glucophage. He said that since clomid didn't work for me my first 3 rounds, that adding glucophage might help me to ovulate. Has anyone here not had success on clomid alone, but did when glucophage was added. I'm trying to have some hope. Thanks

check out the PCOS board. I think you will find some woman over there that have had this happen. Sorry I am not more help.

I haven't had success yet, but my Dr did tell me that glucophage has helped many PCOS patients conceive. I've been on on glucophage for several years to prevent cysts from recurring, even when we needed to take a break from using meds to try to conceive. The first couple of months on glucophage were rough, but once my body adjusted it has been a good thing and I lost 20 pounds the first year.

I have pcos and tried tried to get pregnate for 5 years. I went on metaformin and clomid and I conceived my son on 3rd cylcle.

What is metaformin? And your RE prescribed both for you to take at the same time? Congrats on getting preggers.
