Hello all, I have been taking Aygestin for 5 years to induce my monthly cycle. When taken off of this medication, I do not start on my own. Does anyone think this is ridiculous for me to be on this medication for so long without my ob/gyn trying to see what the possible underlying cause is? After 2 1/2 years of being on Aygestin, I wanted to actively try to conceive, and my ob/gyn told me to try for a year first and see what happend, which was nothing. And then all he did was check my bloodwork and stuck me on clomid for 3 months. The clomid supposedly didn't work, so he said he would have to refer me to a specialist. What I don't understand is if all of my bloodwork came back within normal range, wouldn't that mean my hormones are normal? Why would my ob/gyn say that he thought my problem was hormonal and that the clomid should work? I just don't know what else could be causing this. I am diagnosed with anovulation, but to be honest, I think it was just a guess. Does anyone else have this problem? I just don't want to be on medication the rest of my life. I would appreciate any thoughts, or similar stories.
