Has anyone heard of having a weight restriction on IVF? I was told that I need to lose 20lbs before they consider me for IVF. I was shocked. I know I am heavy but had no clue I was to heavy for IVF.

Thanks Queen. Yeah I am going to check around. I know there are woman much heavier on this sight that are doing IVF. Maybe it is just my clinic.

I know it depends on the clinic. My doctor does his IVF procedures in the office and has a BMI limit for IVF due to concerns with anesthesia. He will refer to a nearby hospital IVF program for patients with a BMI over 39.

Yes I have heard of wt restrictions on IVF. My RE said it is because the medication will not absorb if you are overweight.

My BMI is under 40 and I respond so well to meds. I have had cycles cancel for too many follicles. oh well. Working on the 20lbs they want me to lose.
