New Weight Loss Support Thread

I wanted to start a new thread for weight loss. I know others have been started and I'm sure a lot of you wonderful ladies have been corresponding but I need and want support and figured why not start a new one and see what happens. My objective here is to be very honest with myself and reach out for support from others and also hear the wonderful success stories as we try to lose some weight. I'll go first.
I just officially started my diet and healthy living today. I reached my rock bottom this weekend when with a lot of high school friends and after stuffing my face to the point that I couldn't breath I realized enough is enough. Went home and had a real heart to heart with myself. Not that this matters much but I realized when out with my girlfriends that in high school I was the tiniest at a size 11/12 and now I am the heaviest and if I don't do something soon and nip this in the bud now I will be stepping over the line where my there will be some major health issues.
I am currently in a tight 24/26 and a comfortable 26/28. Wow that really hurt to type this. I am not ready to type in my weight yet and don't know the true number but pretty sure what I am close to. I am ready though to start typing in what I lose on a weekly basis.
Anyone else interested please let me know.

I'd like to join. I went to the grocery store today and did some bad stuff, but not too bad. I want to lose about 50, but also have to remember that I should just start with baby steps.
this am 198.2, we'll see how this week goes.

I was motivated by the recent Oprah show with Dr. Oz. I realized how unhealthy I am at my current weight and am ready to do something about it.
Here is what I am doing so far:
1. Replace fast food lunches with soup or frozen lunches that are low-cal, low-fat, and have no hydrogenated fats, high fructose corn syrup, or white enriched flour. This should cut about 600 calories a day (I know, I know) off my diet.
2. Cutting out sodas. This will cut about 600 calories a week.
3. Try to consciously exercise and walk more.
4. Make better choices for dinners and desserts, and eat a few nuts about 30 minutes before dinner to curb my appetite (Dr. Oz's suggestion).
I will post my weight. I am 5'8" and weigh 224.5 pounds. (I was just weighed a few days ago at the gyno's office). I wear anywhere from a 16 to a 20 depending on the style of the clothes.
I am in a strange situation because HOPEFULLY I will be pg after my FET on the 17th, but I am going to continue to try and lose weight and get healthier even if I am pg.
Anyone else want to join us??

Hi Ladies--- i really should cut soda out of my diet.. i just crave caffeen now that i work in a high school.... i need the energy....
but the exercizing thing is my enemy.... my DH works split shifts and our schedules are not meshing.. and i could use some inspiriational assistance.. not to mention a good spell checker..hahahahah.
Okay ladies... soda is where i should start.. at least i should lower the calorie of my soda soo i have a fighting chance.. i must get back on the DIET RITE path.

i am 5 ft w/ a BMI of 38.7 :( I need to change the exercise pattern and sneaking food behind everyones back. I forget that I just turned 30 and am getting no younger with each and every day. I want a baby so bad and this weight is the only thing stopping me. I am starting today with the determination that it will not beat me. Thank you ladies for the support.

I need all the support I can get..as I am sure all of us do. I sat here today and was looking at pictures of my dog that dh took yesterday. There was one of me in it, and I looked at him and said "Is this really me??" "I am this big??" I knew I was heavy but as they say a picture says a thousands words. I was speachless, and embaressed. My problem is that I work an hour and a half away from my home. I leave my house at 7am and I do not get home til 7:30pm. Dh and I work two different shifts...i work days and he works seconds. :( Just not sure what to eat when I do get home...if I should even eat at all. I am also hooked on Diet Pepsi. Sorry so long...it just all came out. I need to do this not only for my health...but would love to have a child one day. So here I am and I am really glad I came across this thread. I am 32 5'7 and my BMI is at 44. I am not ready to tell my weight just yet either. Thats my story...and I look forward to winning the battle of the buldge with you ladies! :)

Welcome everyone!! I hope we can support each other and that we are all successful!
Well I can tell my body is used to eating more than soup for lunch. I am STARVING. I am downing a bottle of water in hopes that it helps fill me up. Dinner time in about an hour. Can't wait. :)
I guess I need to bring some healthy snacks to work to help with this hunger.

Yes welcome everyone. Seems we all are motivated and this thread will be wonderful and full of support.
My biggest issue I think is I can be good all day if I stay away from the vending machine - lol. No seriously if I come in with a lunch and snacks I can stay away from it and then I get home and will eat a good dinner with portion control. It's just afterwards when I watch tv. I want all the bad stuff. I think I am going to hit the store after work and load up on the carrot and celery sticks and get some fat free sour cream and make a dip so I have something to snack on at night.
SpinDaisy: do you have a crock pot? You could make something and cook it on low all day while you are at work so you walk into something nice and healthy.
My girlfriend who has lost about 60 pounds so far will actually take some time on Sundays and make meals and freeze individual portions. She makes this wonderful turkey meatloaf and all she adds to it is salsa which is fat free and makes them in muffin tins and has a ton of little meatloafs.
Good luck everyone. We have to remember we are here for each other for support so there is no need to fib because we are only hurting ourselves which I tend to do and will make sure I don't.
I guess weigh in on Monday am and report our wonderful sucess!!!!!!!

I like snacking on the 100 calorie microwave popcorn when watching tv. It is good and it lasts a long time. Not as healthy as carrots and celery but if you are craving that salty crunchy thing, it's not a bad snack. :)
Freezing portions is a good idea... only you still have to cook! :D
I did well yesterday. I ended up at 1176 calories for the day (checked calories of everything at calorieking.com), drank a lot of water, and did some walking - although not the big evening walk. I have to make sure to do that.
I was so hungry yesterday that I decided to start today with a "real" breakfast. I normally have a Luna bar for breakfast, so today I'll see if eating more keeps me full longer or makes it worse. "They" say that breakfast should be your biggest meal and it is normally my smallest.
Anyway, hope everyone is having a good day today and we are all being strong!

My lunch today:
Veggie sub from Subway (6", not the usual 12")
No extra cheese
No chips
No soda - instead got a cup of ice for my bottled water
I feel pretty full after eating it too. So far so good!
And I did another lap around the building after visiting the restroom. It's hot out there today!

I made a deal with myself. I have been walking and cutting down to only meals. I am not a morning person so I start with Special K protein bar then lunch is usually something bigger. Sandwich, salad, etc...Dinner has been heart heathly cereal. It is really good. Then sometimes I have ice cream for dessert. I also make myself drink a full bottle of water before I eat. That really helps. Sometimes I am so full from that I dont feel like eating. Hard to believe since I love to eat.
hi,
I'd be interesting in corresponding for mutual moral support. I was cornered into weight loss a few months ago when my fertility doctor told me that I was on the border of his being willing to work with me and that any help he'd offer would be compromised by my weight. It also didn't help that my husband who I thought loved me for me and all of me told me my weight was affecting us sexually (just what you want to hear when you want to have kids). That one really hurt. I ran to the gym and hired a trainer to force me to go despite feeling ashamed of the way I look. It helped me to see others at the same point as me at the gym, and not just super skinnies.
I also signed up for a weight loss support group at a local hospital. I haven't found that as helpful as individual therapy, but that got too expensive.
I've done south beach and lost some, but have trouble sticking with the plan.
how about you?

OUCH. That sucks that both your doctor and DH are on you about your weight. :( You are doing very well though - I know it helps to remember you are doing it in order to have children, but do it for yourself too.
I have never tried a formal diet at all... south beach and Adkins would be really hard for me since I am a vegetarian. My weaknesses are pasta and chocolate. Mmmm. Chocolate pasta.... that sounds good! :D

Sounds like everyone has made a great start. I feel very good about this girls. I think we have started something really good here.
Ok last night I went home and had a 1/2 cup of beef stew and then wound up having a small slice of pumpkin pie ice cream but it was 98% fat free - lol. I am sort of following WW also and only allow myself the points I can have.
Crystal the soy scrips are actually sweet treats and they are great and even better if cold. They are called Sensible Portions and at Costco they have a variety pack with 3 flavors. Cinna-Swirl, Pretzel Crunch, and Cookie Dough. If you follow WW they are 2 points a pack. One pack is 100 Callories, 3 grams of fat, 0 Cholesterol, 0 Trans Fat, Carbs are 16 grams, and Sodium is 120mg.
This am I started off with a big breakfast and ate an entire big bagel. Guess I was starving from yesterday so I will just have to curb the rest of the day.
CrystalAZ
11-08-2006, 11:15 AM
That's ok - breakfast is a good meal to splurge on if you're gonna splurge, since you'll burn it off today! :)
The soy crisps sound good! I may have to try those.
I just added up my calories from yesterday and it was 1321. That is really good. I have noticed what a snacker I usually am, just grabbing whatever is around and munching on it. I had cereal for breakfast today. Lunch is going to be challenging today - DH is taking me to Peter Piper's lunch buffet. I am going to have a salad, no soda, no cinnamon bread (whine), and maybe 2 pieces of cheese pizza.
I also took DH and the doggies for a 30 minute walk last night.

Hey everyone,
I was just reading an article about how taking one day a week and allowing yourself the things you want in moderation can actually help your diet. That is what I kind of do with WW. I do my points 6 days and Saturday I dont. But I also make sure I exercise on Saturday.
I also feel very guilty for not exercise since Sunday. However, I had an IUI on Sunday and have been cramping so bad since then. Drs said not to exercise till cramping goes away. I maybe gaining this week.
CrystalAZ
11-08-2006, 06:01 PM
Well, sheesh, that's a good reason to take it easy. :) I'll be hoping that it is successful for you!
I used to do that - I had "HO HO SUNDAY". If I was good all week, I could have Ho-Hos on Sunday. Of course, now I don't eat Ho-Hos (beef fat in them) but I could do chocolate sundae Sunday. :D

Hi all! I would like to Join- I am Angela and I weigh in at 245 and am 5ft6. I had been on ww and everything else. I ordered the book "The fertility diet" and much of it made sence to me. I think I took it as more of a healthy living type of book. I had always wondered what the big deal was of eating more organic foods, decaf coffee etc. I have been doing much research and think for me this is the best way to go. I have joined ww online and am doing my best to eat more organic foods and LOTS of org veggies. So far so good. I started this last Friday and I am feeling pretty good and hardly ever hungry. I have also cut out soda (even though I am drinking seltzer water) adn trying to stay away from sugar/artificial sweeteners/white four. Some things I just cant help and have to break out the splenda for (sweet potatos is one!).

I am 5 ft and weigh 197 or 198, depending on my sodium intake. I have lost no weight as of yet, but I hope to change that soon. I do okay at work and breakfast, but when I'm by myself or studying I feel like I need to eat something sweet. I think I have an eating disorder where I hide food from my DH and family? :( Well, I will start in the am.

Yesterday I had 1555 calories, the most since starting. Tortillas are a killer! I need to find a lower calorie version! We did go for a walk again last night, and I am still circling the building at work when I go to the restroom.
Today, some friends invited us to Carrabas. Rather than fettucine alfredo and a whole bunch of their yummy sourdough, I had a salad with oil/vinegar, only 1 piece of bread and a tiny heel (whine!) and some linguini with tomatoes and garlic - but only ate about 1/3 of the pasta. The worst is I have to completely guess on writing down my calories since they didn't have any info.
Hope everyone else is having a great day!

HI Ladies--- I will weigh ny self in the morning... but its not going to be good.. at least i don't think it will be...
anyway.. im not touching soda---- at least that's my goal.... I've gone a whole day with out cola..caffee and im trying to stick to tea and water.. tea with no sugar... im using spenda.. but i've heard that spenda can still to wacky things to your weight.... anyone know anything about this...
Im trying very hard to stay way from cola for the next couple of weeks.. i think this might be an area of weight gain..... I might just have to swich to diet right again.. if i need cola.. cause i liked it alot... but anywho...
I am sub teacher and doing alot of that lately.. on top of the fact the IF is giving me incredible depression.. i am going to go away to my parents for a few days.. (help them move) and maybe i can come back lighter..
I might add i am frustrated with the lack of fruit in the grocery store... ( i love fruit....any who..

Great job on the soda! I was thinking about it today and it has been 3 weeks since I have touched the stuff. I think what has helped me is seltzer water. Every now and then I will have a seltzer water which has only carbonated water and natural flavors. No sodium, artificial sweetners etc. It really saves me when I crave that coke!!!!!

I am 6 ft tall and just joined WW 2.5 weeks ago. I lost 7 lbs my first week. I was so excited. I lost 3 lbs the next week. I'm not weighing at home. I weigh in on Fridays. I feel like I've lost some this week, too. So, I started at 263, now at 253. I have a goal of losing till I get preggers, but until that happens, I just want to be under 200. Dr. wants 180, but at this point, I'll take my 10 and be happy.
I have a question to all of you. I don't ovulate regularly and dr. thought that losing weight will help that return to normal since fat stores estrogen. Any success stories?

Don't get frustrated, Lori. Depending on where you are in your cycle and what type of day you weigh yourself, it can make a difference. If you are doing the right things, the weight WILL come off.

I weighed in today at WW. I lost 1 lb. That's 11 total in 3 weeks. It is really nice to see results like that.
Lori, hang in there. It could be 6 lbs of water weight. I notice as much as a 4 lb difference between weighing in the morning and the evening. They always recommend weighing at a consistent time, preferably the a.m. since the weight is you and not the Subway you had for lunch. Good luck this week.

I went in for my ET yesterday! I had to weigh myself before I went in to see where I was, and I was at 217.2!!! That is down another 3 pounds!
I am weighing in now, because since I am supposed to be having a relaxing weekend after my transfer, I am enjoying some bad foods. I'll start my eating well again on Monday, and enjoy a comforting weekend. (But still won't go nuts or anything).
Hugs to all,

I guess what I need to do is not make the same mistake I always do and just start from this point on and not continue my mistakes!!!!!!!

Well again last week was bad. Didn't gain but didn't lose either so I guess I should be a little thankful since it was just Thanksgiving. I went out yesterday and stocked my kitchen with all easy dieting food and snacks. If DH wants his own stuff he will have to get it and cook it himself becuase I just can't keep trying to shop for 2 eating different things and making different meals. Some of the stuff I got was Healthy Choice micro soups and meals for lunch, WW yogurt and WW bagels for breakfast and a ton of the 100 calorie pack snacks, turkey and veggie burgers and a ton of veggies and fruits. I can be more creative later when I am into it. Right now I have to make this as brainless and easy as possible or I am doomed to fail.
How is everyone else doing?????????

1- cut all soda out of my diet
2- have mother inlaw over cook the turkey soo its dried out and uneatable
3- Get strep throat over the weekend.
Its a diffrent weight loss plan.. BUT IT WORKS!!

However, Met Dh and said I was too skinny I am 5'7 in aggreance I gained some weight and was at 130 where I was comfortable. Well in the last few years I gained some more so I was running at 150. Not to bad but not great then I started taking all these meds (steriorids) i weighed myself last month i gained 10 lbs in a month and 5 more lbs this month I guess its from steriodes. I am 28 5 foot (short yes I know) and 189 lbs. I am trying so hard to lose weight. But it would be nice to be able to talk with others that are trying to lose also.
Today is my start date. 12/13/06 I had lost 50 pounds before But my dad spent 6 mths in the hospital in ICU so I ate hospital food and gained it back from all the worry and stress. I lost my weight by eating healthier and doing Tabeoo. So I start it again Tonight.

Thanks for the Welcome. I am hoping to Lose 60 or 70 pounds. I am really wanting to lose alot of my butt. You have no clue how huge it is. I wear a size 16/18 jeans now. That is only because I would fix in smaller size but my butt won't ha..ha I hate that. If you have any Ideas on how to do that. I would love to know them. Right now I wouldn't say that I have any issues with eating alot of bad foods. I just right after High school (I was a size 12) started getting kinda down and worked in a Grocery Store (bakery) so I just can't get the weight off. Little excerise. Now that I am married and want a baby so bad I know how How I look isn't how I feel. I am sick of being tired all day and have no energy.
I want a change and I need help

Hello*!!! oh I understand the booty problem. Before my weight loss surgery I mainly carried my weight in my hips/thighs/gut/butt. I since have had a tummy tuck, so now I still carry it in my lower half...my waist is about 2 sizes smaller then my booty. I just mainly work on thigh lifts and pelvic lifts to help tone and while doing that hopefully work on losing a couple inches. Good luck and definitly keep working on it*!!!!

Hello*!!! well mine was covered by insurance because I lost more then 100lbs and was having rash issues because of the flabby skin. Right after I had it done all I would wear what belly button type shirts...looked a little funny because of my hips, but hey I got curves.....teeheehee I was looking into a thigh/butt lift, but the insurance wouldn't pay for that and I didn't have that kind of money, but with the lose skin I have it sure would be nice to be in a more regular size pant....hohum

Lucky,
That is to funny. Belly shirts. I haven't wore those since High school. ha..ha
I know they are so expensive. I guess I was lucky when I lost my 50 before I was able to get rid of the flap. But now I wish I hadn't ha..ha Never knew they would cover it. Guess I am just to use to the IF not being covered you know. My doctor told me that my weight wasn't a huge deal for me since the main issue is the blocked tube. But I want to do it for myself. So when I lose the weight the next time I put it on it had better be because I am pregnant. ha..ha
I am glad that the tummy gave you a big head. ha..ha (just joking) no I am glad the surgery went well and sounds like it helped to make you feel good too. i know losing weight is a great feeling. But having curves again is a great feeling. I would do the same thing with the tummy shirts. ha..ha

As for the fruit also try drinking plenty of water...a little hint that I got from my surgery is not to eat and drink at the same time...stop drinking 30 minutes before a meal and don't drink for 30 minutes after a meal. You will get fuller faster. I know this is very hard to do...but even just sipping through a meal. Good Luck*!!! BK is EVIL

Thanks so much! He seems to be doing better last night. At least he is awake now. They gave him medicine so his swelling is also getting better. So we are just keeping our fingers crossed and prayers going.
I am so happy for the 5lbs. I know it has to make you feel good. Sorry to say I didn't know there was a weight Restriction either. Well I pray that the 20 pounds just falls off. It sounds like you are doing great and on the road to being 20 pounds lighter. Keep me updated on what is going on.
Ok and Now My turn I managed to Weight myself (at the hospital but I did it) I am 4 pounds lighter. So I did it. I can't believe it. QV makes me feel even worse about that damn suzy Q yesterday. But I am making up for it. I have my grapes.
I still say Nasty to Cottage Cheese. although my mom adds sugar free Orange Jello to it and Orange bits to it and it is alot better. Just get the healthier stuff and you are good. Enjoy it. Glad to here the walk helped clear your mind

Dawn,
Don't beat yourself up. With the holiday I say it isn't bad to only be up by 3lbs. I say you did well. I am actually the same as last week. Yeah! But we haven't had our Christmas yet ha..ha Give me time.
Have fun with the treadmill. I asked Santa for one but He didn't bring it. Darn the luck. ha..ha

My weight is now 211. Over the holidays I did not really lose much weight. I am just waiting for the holidays to be done with, so I can get on with my routine. Although I have started eating healthy. After the holidays I will really start following the Weight Watchers program and go to the gym regularly. I lost 40lbs in the past but gain 20lbs back. I think it was the whole IF stuff. This past year 5 ladies at my job were preg. Plus I had to work extra hour at work. This year I plan not to work too many hours so I can take care of myself.
 Hi ladies...I'm new to this site. But I was so glad to find this thread. I'm hoping you won't mind if I jump into it. I've had a problem with my weight for the last few years. I use the excuse that since I work night shift that's where the extra lbs have come from. And then I woke up one morning and to my surprise weighed 245 lbs. Now trying to get pregnant makes me more aware of the problems I'm in store for. I'm the type of person that needs someone on my back to lose weight or go to the gym with. You'd think that having fertility problems would give me enough ambition.......nope, it hasn't. HELP?!?!?! :(

I hope all you ladies had a great holiday. and remember to not be so hard on yourself.

Thanks

I want to do it. But money is alittle tight right now. Damn IF and no insurance
dawnymarie
12-29-2006, 11:50 AM
I understand the money issue completely. We have insurance but they dont cover IF. Anyway, I think the fee is 13.75. However, if you ask your doctor to write a note they might cut the price in half. I have a couple of friends that did that because money was tight.

Really,
It doesn't have to say anything about IF does it. I mean I am not majorly over weight. I just need to lose at least 40 pounds Man sound like alot.
That would but me at 145. I would like to lost more But 40 would make me happy.
I will have to call my PCP about that. I know he would wright me one.

Hello to all. I just found this thread and I am so happy. Hate to barge in, but can I join in midthread? I need to lose some pounds before we do IVF. Currently we are getting back on the IVF roller coster after taking a 6 month break. It was so great to take time off!!! However, now we go on January 15th to start up again. I already know that my doctor is going to tell me to lose 20 to 30 pounds. So, I decided to be proactive and initiate the process myself. I'm currently on South Beach (I have PCOS) and I am on day two. Good luck to all and Happy New Year!!!!

I'll weigh in with you. I'm down 3lbs. since I started about a week and 1/2 ago. Just a hint to everyone, I went to Target the other day and found some great toning tapes for just $2.50. They were in the front of the store near where they display all the cheap stuff. I'm using them and I am so sore! Which is great b/c I heard that muscle burn fat faster. I then proceeded to send results to RE and have not heard back from them in 3 days. I am so mad. I don't know if this will help in your feeling better, but I work with a woman who had unexplained infertility. She and her husband tried for five years to have children and then quit before tx, decided not for them. That was about seven years ago, they stopped trying two years ago. Anyway, she is about five monthes pregnant. Maybe this is why for your infertility? She also has lupus, and has been on maintaince meds since. I don't know if you have any other factors, but hopefully this does help. Sorry if it does not.

The immune issue is about the blood sticking together. Therefore, during implantation the connection is to weak to hold up. Or at least this is what I read. I am switching clinics and Friday might now more.

about a 1year and 1/2 ago my dad was working on the roof and slipped and fell off he landed on his head. He landed face down. My sister saw him fly past the window and ran to help in. she turned him over and he wasn't breathing she revived him. But due to the Ambulance not being able to tube him They caused lack of oxygen to his brain. He spendt 6 month in the hospital and now has TBI (tramatic brain Injury) he also has a trach in his neck helping him to breath and due to fractures of the spine and other issues he was left as an incomplete paragoligic (sp) they told him he can move his legs but would never walk again. When he left the hospital he had no short term memory.
Well he is now walking around the house with no help. (not mall walking) it takes him time but he does it. and his short term memory is back. somedays he has trouble but don't we all.
right before Christmas he got phemonia and ended up in the hospital again. and now all of this. we have no clue what is going on. but he has come so far and was doing so great we just don't know.
sorry it is kinda long.

Thanks! I can't believe I lost 20 pounds. For the last couple weeks I have been layed up in bed Threw my back out and getting so sick before that. (thank God for laptops ha...ha) so While Hubby was at work And I have been in bed Not being able to move. I didn't really eat only when Hubby brought food home. The rest of the time other then that I have been at the hospital and Come on Hospital food. Nasty. And I refuse to put any money in that Stupid Vending machine.
But I actually found something that Helps my back. Yoga. I can't believe it but it works. So I have been able the last couple of mornings (when I get home) to do it then I have started my Taboo boot camp again.
Ok ladies. I swear if you want to lose weight Boot camp is the way. I wipes you out. But man do you feel great after words. I do the Yoga first to lossen up and It works. Loving it. I lose 50 pounds 2 years ago (before the accident) and Did it with Boot camp I didn't even watch what I ate.

Where did everybody go? It looks like no one has posted in awhile. Here is my story. Three years ago I joined WW at 215 (I am 5'4"). I had great success and lost 79lbs! I gained a few and maintained mid 140s for a year. Then I totally lost my focus on weight loss. I really believe in WW but I am ashamed to go back after having gained 50lbs from my lowest. This week, after our second failed IVF attempt, my husband and I challenged each other to a month long (for starters) challenge, as we are both overweight. The rules are no skipping meals, no pills, and weekly weigh ins. Who ever loses the most in one month gets an hour long professional massage. And really, no one loses since we will both be healthier, which I am sure increases our odds of successful fertilization. Did anyone read the article on MSNBC this week about obesity and infertility? Of course there was a link from that artcile to the new results about ice cream increasing fertility! LOL! I hope you are all still doing well and that people start posting again!

Dawn-
I know it is really hard to make healthy choices when coping with so much stress. Its what got me heavy to begin with. I was thinking today (and bare in mind I have only been working at weight for 5 days now) how it is kind of nice to focus on something that I can actually take charge of instead of spending all my time worrying about something that feels so out of my hands-like fertility treatments! I know for me one of my motivating factors was hearing the anesthesiologist who put me under during my first egg retrieval say to the staff while I was in my groggy stage "we have a BMI of over 35 here". It was definitely a wake up call for me. I know WW equipped me with wonderful tools, I just need to be strong and use them!

Hi QV!
I definetly think it is worth checking out WW. Its not for everybody but I really liked the flexibility of the program and it felt much more of a life style change than a diet, which was why I was able to do so well for 2 years. Glad we are bringing a little life back to this thread!

How are you doing? I have lost 26.5lbs on WW and right now I have been stuck for a couple of weeks. I am sure it has something to do with being in the 2ww from my last iui. I have my beta on Tuesday as well as WW. Hoping it is a good day for both.

Can I join?
I've been doing WW since Jan 15 and have lost 15 lbs. I'm 5' and my starting weight was 198.
I love WW. I never thought I could lose weight unless I ate nothing but salads. WW has changed my way of thinking.
Can I add some hints, suggestions etc how I've been able to lose?
* I'm eating alot more chicken and turkey. I never new Turkey products could be so versitile and yummy! Just make sure you check the turkey lables.....some of them have more fat than beef.
* I drink a lot of Crystle Light....especialy when I get the munchies, it usually takes the edge off! :D
* I'm exercising 3 days a week
* I give myself 1 day out of the week to "cheat" (typically staying w/in my WW 35 extra points).
* Here is a lowfat recipe I LOVE!!! :D :D :D
- 1 Box Cake Mix
- 15 oz Pumpkin
- 1/2 c Water
- Bake according to Cake Mix instructions, top with Fat Free Whip Cream
- This is yummy!!!!!! 2-3 WW points depending on size eaten!
- I typically use Choc Cake mix but sure it would be great with other kinds.
* Olean products really help me with the munchies!!!! I love them. Some people's bodies don't react well w/ Olean but mine does just fine. Fat Free Pringles are my favorite!
* A company called Walden's Farm make some really great Fat Free, Calorie Free dips/dressings. I've tried chocolate, ranch dressing and honey mustard...all really good! I found them in the healthy food isle at the grocery store.
* I forget who makes these but they're called SnackAways. I find them where the Little Debbie items are. They are good for you snack foods. I've tried the "twinkies" and "oatmeal cream pies". Both very good.
That's it for now. Anyone else like to share there secrets?

For those interested in or doing WW, check out this link. This woman has calculated points for everything! Including, many chain restaurants. I find it really helpful to look over before I get to the restaurant so I know what some healthy options are ahead of time rather than trying to guess.

I will definitely try out the pumpkin recipe! I love all things pumpkin! There is also a product called No Pudge Fudge. I can only find it at Trader Joes but I know some other supermarkets carry it. It is a low fat (2 point) brownie and there is a recipe on the box for making individual servings. You can also bake the brownies and before cutting them up, crumple 2 low fat graham crackers on top, cover them with about a half cup of mini marshmellows and put back in the oven till the marshmellows melt. Top with a little fat free chocolate syrup and you have a tasty treat. If memory serves me, a serving is then 4 points.
I am down 5.6 lbs in one week! :)

Hello*!!!
Dawny--good luck tomorrow..keep us posted*!!!
Me...I am doing okay..but I have the mindset because I am in the 2ww I hate to try to do a workout routine...or "diet".....it is a bad mindset, but I can make myself believe it for a while then I think uggghhhhh this is ridiculous.
Does anyone else think like this???

My DH and I had our first official challenge weigh in last night. From last Thursday I was down 1.6lbs, but it was at the end of the day and my initial one was in the morning. He is down 2lb but percentage lost, we are tied. Got myself on the treadmill a couple mornings this week! I have been doing a great job of not snacking but I think the dinners I have made this week have been a little higher calories than they should be. I am on the pill right now-to regulate before I start the meds for my next IVF cycle. I know that doesn't help. I would love to be down another 5lbs by the time it starts! Looks like people are doing well with weight loss! You go girls! Sorry for you BFN Dawn.

ok. I am up .8lbs today. I am a little bummed because I thought it would be a good week. I guess I need to get my butt on the treadmill everynight instead of everyother night.

Ladies, can I join in? I have PCOS and find it a little hard to lose weight. I am 28 pounds down since the end of August. Here lately, I am doing terrible on my eating and exercising. I was sick forever and didn't go to the gym. Also, mine and DH's schedules have been really hectic and our eating habits show it!! Ugh!!!

Welcome, IN
Congrats on the 28lbs. That is awesome. I am in the same boat lately. Not eating like I should and not exercising regularly. I have lost 26lbs and have been about the same for the last month.

Good morning ladies! So this is probably one of the slowest weight loss attempts for me. So tomorrow it will be three full weeks and I am down 6.5. So basically I have only lost 1 in the the past two weeks. Its frustrating because I have been following the plan exactly and exercising 3 times a week. I will have to blame to pill, since I started that 2 weeks ago to level me off before the next cycle! I am just going to try to keep a positive attitude and know that even if the pounds aren't melting off, I am eating much healtier and exercising and that has to be helping me one way or the other!! Hope everyone else is hanging in there too!

Well, I am up this week. I am blaming it on my hysteroscopy. Hoping to get back to working out this week and see that weight go away.

So, now that I stopped the pill, I lost 2 lbs this week! So a total of 8.5. I will take it! I start my stims tomorrow, so I will be interested in seeing how that effects my attempt to lose. If I can be down 10 by the time of the retrieval, I will be happy! I hope everyone is doing well and that Spring weather is making its way to you!

Queen - let us know how the HSG goes.
I have good and bad news, bad news is that the polyp I had removed containted hyperplasia with atypia cell (precancer) so I am now back to my ob/gyn to see what is going on and what our next steps will be. I am very bummed as we were going to start IVF in two weeks.
Good news lost 2lbs so I am not at a total of 29.6lbs down
hope everyone is good.
