Do you think it's possible?

Happy Sunday Ladies,

I was wondering if any of you think it's possible to find a doctor willing to treat me for IF even though I'm not in my ideal weight range.
I'm losing weight (slowly), doing everything I need to do to lose weight and be healthy...
The 3'rd RE I visited was more positive than the other two but he did say "I'm not going to touch you until you're under 250lbs."
Then he went on to encourage me to go ahead with the lap band surgery - which I was going to do anyway but put on hold to give TTC 3 more cycles.

I'm just all confused - I want to be healthy (Who doesn't!), but I want to be a mom too. It's just beating me down today for some reason.
I guess because I'm on CD40 something with no sign of O and no sign of AF. It gets to a girl, yanno...

Thanks for letting me vent...

Yes it is possible to find a doctor that is willing to treat you even if you aren't the "proper" weight. I am 5'11 and when I started my IF journey 280. My RE was WONDERFUL!!! I went through a few quacks who said that being thin would make it easier, but I loved to throw it in their faces that smaller women go through IF issues too. It's not just a "fat" problem.

My RE was so wonderful. He never NEVER mentioned anything about my weight. Just that we would do whatever it took to get me pregnant. In the middle of treatment I was going to switch RE's to someone on base. I ment with him and NOTHING about my weight came up. So it is possible.

You do whatever is in your heart. If you want to continue with your treatment and put off the surgery DO IT!!!

If you ever want someone to talk to that has been there...feel free to PM me. I am more than happy to help!

I agree it is possible to find that RE you need and get treated now vs. waiting until you are at ideal weight. My RE (whom I absolutely love) has never asked me my weight. The only time it has been brought up is by the anastesialogist for related surgeries with my RE. I did see another RE amidst an insurance blunder who would not treat me without all these extra letters from physicians and so forth due to my weight. That was embarrassing and appauling in my opinion. I am back with my original RE, lost 25 pounds, not that he has ever asked me, and happy again with his treatments. Keep looking for that RE who will work with you!
