The Clomid is for days 3-7 of your cycle, not of your period. It's impossible to tell if it will make you ovulate, but taking it as prescribed is a good step!
Ovulation can occur on different days all the time. Unless it was created for you based on your previous cycles, the calendar you have probably puts ovulation at cycle day 14 - that is for the "perfect" 28-day cycle, but may women differ from that. That's why so many of us obsess over Ovulation Predictor Kits and temperature charting!
Good luck to you!

Yeah, what she said :) Keep taking the clomid even if you stopped bleeding! I took it days 3-7 this month also :) About the BMS...I usually make sure we do it at least every other day (or every day in our case lol) starting from about day 10...I usually keep it up until after O. If you are charting, you will know when to stop.

Clomid does not make you ovulate. I was on clomid for 3 cylcles and never ovulated according to my bloodwork. My ob/gyn should have monitored more closely as I found out later (ultrasounds along with the bloodwork). I then moved on to iui with an RE and was monitored closely. Given the trigger shot and then confirmation ultrasound it was found I did ovulate with that process but still no postive after 3 cycles. Currently in 2ww of IVG. Good luck to you.

Clomid does not make you ovulate.
Clomid never worked for me but it does help some people to ovulate. Clomid's job is to help the follicles grow, not to release the eggs, but many women ovulate on their own once the follicles are the right size.

Clomid worked for me so good luck and keep hoping. It took 3 cylces of it to work and on the 3rd round my doctor had me take it from days 5 to 11 so I actually ovulated but found with clomid I ovulated a lot later than the norm.

Clomid is an estrogen blocker. It makes your brain think that you are not making enough estrogen. This is supposed to trigger you to produce more FSH which would then result in your body making more estrogen thus stimulating your egg follicles to grow.
Don't worry about your period. Your period is completely independent of the clomid. I only ever bleed for 2.5 days so when I took clomid on CD3-7, I did not bleed on days 4-7.
For some people a small dose of clomid will make them ovulate, for others it takes a larger does, for still others it doesn't work at all. You're not going to know until you try, sometimes several cycles as they may have to adjust your dosage.
My personal experience: clomid made me ovulate earlier. I took 50mg/day on CD3-7. I don't know how many follies I made because they were unmonitored cycles.
As for timing BMS -- you'll have to chart or use OPKs in order to know when to stop. Otherwise go with every other day until you get your period or a BFP!

If you ovulated last month on 100mg you will probably do so this cycle also, so good luck!
To chart: go to www.fertilityfriend.com and sign up for a free account, there is some info on how to get started there. You will need to get a special thermometer that measures a narrower range of temperatures but measures them more accurately. These cost around $10 at drug stores, Walmart etc. They are called "basal temperature thermometers". Basically you take your temp every day at around the same time, before you have gotten out of bed or had any activity. You want your "resting" temperature. Then you record that in your chart. If you want to get ambitious you can record your other "fertile signs" also -- like cervical mucus, cervical position, etc. IMO those are harder and take some practice so you may want to start with just the temps first. After you ovulate, your body starts making progesterone. Progesterone makes your temperature shift up slightly -- by about half a degree. That's what we're looking for on your chart to show that you ovulated -- the "thermal shift". And that's pretty much it, in a nutshell.
If you want the in-depth version of instructions, read "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" -- excellent book and you will understand your body much better after reading it. It's thick but just read the parts that seem most relevant to you.
