Exercise and Infertility

Hi,

I just started cycle two after a miscarriage in April. I was putting on an estrogen patch and thinking, "This ain't the belly I had last time." Long story short, I ended up on the scale and now am 7 pounds heavier than I was last cycle.

I don't want to screw up this cycle, but don't feel I can just sit around. How much exercise is too much? Can I build up from walking to jogging, biking, swimming? Is the danger of exercise being too much when a woman gets so skinny that she stops menstruating (No danger of that here!).

Anyone have any advice?

Thanks so much,
Susan

I think if you are on stims in any way, you should be light on the exercise. Maybe walk for a while, maybe swim (not 100 laps) but a light swim. You can always cut down the calories by a little and up the light exercise a little. I know it is hard but you need to focus on getting pregnant, not your weight unless you feel it is a factor. If it is not, I am not saying load up on the Mcdonalds, but give yourself a break. You have many other things to worry about!

Exercise is generally good in most ways for your body...gets the good stuff moving around....and in the case of me (a woman with PCOS) it lowers blood sugar levels.

How much is too much? Make sure you always take a day off and if you physically feel like you are over-doing it then you probably are.

Good luck..sorry my answer isn't too clear.
