:boxing: I have been going through ovulation stemulation for about 2 1/2 years with 2 pregnancies ending in m/c one at 8 weeks and one at 6 weeks, I have done only 6 cycles because of the painfull time after the m/c, i needed time to heal. but i had a great doctor! now my husband is in Iraq and im home with family in Tampa and away from my norm RE and going to a RE in Tampa with a great rep. but he is doing everything differant, like not monorting me with blood test (only 1 blood test) throughout the cycle! and only 2 US, last visit my 3 eggs were at 14 (Mon) and he told me to give myself the hcg shot wends (yesterday) (my old doctor would have me back on wends to make sure and give the shot himself!! ) and then i asked when do i come back for my beta and he told me that I just need to call if i start my cycle! I never start my cycle on my own!!!!! I told him this and he said that with the meds I should start if i dont conceive! and now I remembered that he didn't even give me progest. sups! I am so mad I dont know what to do!! im calling him tomorrow and going to TELL him to give me my progest! I'm also on insolin for the first time. well my husband is here on leave for this cycle and it is the only one for 6 more months if it doesnt take cause he will be back in Iraq, You would think that the doctor would be tring alot more harder because of this but oh well. Anyone have any advise? and sorry im a bad speller

Hi Mandy
So Sorry for all you are going through. ITs hard to switch Doc's in the middle. It dose sound like you are not having enough monitering. I would think more than 1 b/w is needed. I guess all you can do now is see what happens. Bening in the Tampa area are there other clinics you can try.
Good Luck

Thanks for your kind words  Anyway I am on Tricare prime and he is the only one that tricare will pay for. I did call him this morning and he told me that I dont need to be on progest. that it isnt the way he does it and that I just need to trust him, and then the nurse notified me that I have to take a hpt on my 14th day, I have no problem with that it is just that they should have told me that, not wait till I call and ask you know but we will see, this is going to be a long 2ww! :bawl: but for me the worst is if I do get pregnant cause I have had 2 m/c's all ready, I just hate the whole process anymore lol and they tell you not to stress lol but anyway thanks again I needed somone to talk to, I've been feeling very moody and DH isnt making things easy for me today, he is in a bad mood too

Mandy,
I feel so much for you, I too am a military wife and it is so hard ttc when you have to keep changing doctors and treatment plans. In 2000 I started clomid my first doctor was a PA, he started me doing my tempts and also clomid. Well after 4 months he sent me to a OBGYN doc at the VA where she put me on 200 mg clomid and 1700mg metformin (i have PCOS) and I was doing that until 2002 when i got pregnant and MC, the whole time i was never tested for progesterone or anything like that. After my MC I went back to the base DR's by then they'd brought in civ OB's. 6 months later i got pregnant again, still they never once checked my hormone levels)prior to pregnancy) like i've heard your supposed to do. NOW we live in england where all we have are PA's again. So i'm seeing a Civ specialist who has me on the same clomid/meformin and he's added provera ( i wasn't having my cycles) he is the first one to do progesterone tests. The frustrating things is that i have to get my tests and med's through the base which means i have to deal with PA doctors. I finally got my 1st progesterone test back FROM MAY (this is july) and it says my levels were 1.54 on day 21 and 2.15 on day 23. Now i'm waiting to find out what that means, did I ovulate? I can't get ahold of my specialist (he's not returning my calls) and the doctors on base can't tell me what it means because they aren't in charge of my treatments. SO FRUStRATING. You'd think that they'd teach all medical people protocol and say this is how you treat people step by step, test by test. No you have each doctor doing his/her own thing.

I am no expert but I think your levels have to be at least 10 to indicate ovulation. I too am a military wife, hubby is in the Navy. We are going through the joys of infertility treatments at a military hospital. I am on my 6th cycle of clomid and the RE wants to start the 7th cycle at 200mg!! Isn't that a bit much? Sorry to high jack your post...I hope all goes well. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!!

Bobby,
From what i've read on the internet 200mg is alot, but i've also heard that if you don't respond after so many treatments that you should move on to something else. Once again that's just what i read, i've been on 200mg from 2001-2003 and now i'm on it again. Have you asked your doctor about it? I'm going to wait a few cycles before i say anything to mine since I just started again. Do your doctors check you with scans and blood tests alot? I'm asking because mine don't and never have. I would love to chat with you some more regarding this, please feel free to email me.

As far as monitoring goes we have to do a clomid check ultra sound at the begining of the cycle. Usually before cd 5. Then Day 21 progesterone level. That's it, I know it isn't as much as some docs. But it is a military hospital and they aren't as on top of it as they could be, but I am trying not to complain too much. Feel free to email me anytime. Aloha!
