Hi my name is Sandra and I am new to this site. I am obese and a type II diabetic. I have been ttc#2 for over a year and just started a cycle of clomid. Is anyone else diabetic and what are your blood sugars like.

:hismilie: Welcome Sandra!!!....I love new people....hope you can stay. I am a new diabetic. Even though my levels run very low to me....Fasting at 120 ...2 hrs. after meal...158. Last Ha1c 7.2. This is still not low enough. My new high risk doctor want them fasting below 100 and 2 hrs after meal he wants 120?...This has been diffucult for me. Although my most recent checks have been around that. I think it has taken about six weeks for the gluc to fully get in my sytem.

I would love to know your experience of what the docs told you about where they wanted your level??????? I too what to try Clomid ...but was told I MUST get my sugar level down before he will prescribe....At first I was upset...but then I started reading how when you get pregnant..the hormones that the body produces to support the placenta INCREASE  insulin resistance of the cells....I realize that he is just being a really good doctor.

I have really been watching the carbs and of course no sugar. I have began to walk outside really fast and maybe that is helping. My most current reading was fasting 103 and 2 hr after meal 124.

Do you have any advice on how I can get it lower? Any specific foods you avoid?

Welcome!!!

I'm borderline and also have to watch what i eat. I've been told to stay away from ALL bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, flour, and anything high in carbs (ie candy, chocolate). It totally sucks because I miss my mashed potatoes but I've already lost 10 lbs by changing the way I eat. If you guys need any recipes let me know I have some good ones.
