Hi all.
It's nice to see a board like this here. I'm glad I'm not the only one going through this.
My story isn't all that complicated. I am currently 250 pounds, 5' 7.25" tall. I have 2 boys. Joey took almost 2 years to conceive, dx unknown infertility. Joey also has down syndrome, he's my miracle boy. We somehow conceived him naturally after moving several states, getting new jobs and just taking a break for 2 months from actively trying. We never got to the point of meds. I did go to the dr before we moved and all tests came back normal, and she refused to go any further with tx until hubby was tested to rule him out. The one urologist in the area we lived wouldn't accept our insurance despite being contratcted and said it was $150 cash up front. We couldn't afford it, said screw it, lets just take a break and see what happens. Suffice it to say, they break seemed to do the trick! Joey is now 5 years old and amazing!

My younger son, Jaysen, was conceived the second month after we decided to start trying (go figure!) and he will be 4 this year. He has a moderate speech delay and keeps me busy.

We decided to start trying for #3 last year after hubby got scared off by the urologist when we considered a vasectomy, yippee for me since I'd been trying to talk him into another baby for a while. That was March 2004. I had been on Depo-Provera for 3 years, not ever being told how difficult it can be to get pg after using that particular birth control. March 2005-finally got pg only to have a miscarriage just days after getting it confirmed with the dr. Pretty rough stuff, but we are getting through all of it okay. Hubby took it the hardest. I had af in April and we are now doing the waiting game. We haven't seen a dr about this secondary if as no affordable insurance, we are just waiting and watching. Funny thing is I have never had normal af, cycles would go anywhere from 2 weeks to 45-50 days and I never knew when I was ovulating. Since stopping the Depo, I have had periods right on the money ever since, every 28 days and I definately can tell when I ovulate, there is nooo question. I haven't been this regular since I took the pill back when we were first married. I've just made up my mind that my body is just screwed up and there is no sense trying to make sense of it anymore.

Weight loss wise, I am trying to get in better shape and health. Since last Nov when I decided I was serious about this, I've lost about 35 pounds. 290 was my heaviest and it scared me. My secret has just been watching what I eat and getting my butt off the couch and exercising. I should have lost more, but I just haven't motivated myself since the m/c. Good news is I am fitting into clothes I haven't worn since before my oldest was born!

I will quit rambling now and I hope to get to know you all better.
Take care,
Diana

Hi Diana-

I just recently "joined" here as well. Mostly I am a "lurker", but something about your post struck a chord with me, so thought I'd just say hi.

I know what you mean about seeing the scale way up there, and being scared! I'm about 5'7", and at my heaviest, I was 295, and pushing a size 26. (How the HE## did that scale get sooooo high? ) I started watching my white carbs (bread, pasta, rice & potatoes) and honestly the weight started to FALL OFF! We recently moved across country, and with that move I got off track with my eating I don't have any idea how much I weigh, but am in a size 20/22. I'm trying to get back on the wagon, so to speak. For me, it is hard to make myself exercise....Any suggestions?

Suzanne,

Have you tried the CURVES workout? I recently started going and I love it. In the past two months, I have lost a total of 10.5 inches on my body. The weight is coming off little by little, but I can tell that I have lost inches.
