Hi you all!!!

I had to change my name and password b/c i forgot it, but it is me Cindy(CYNT)......Quick ???? Have you or anybody considered NutriSystem or Jenny Craig.......I am thinking about joinig. It is expensive, but as long as I lose 40lbs to do IVF again, I don't mind paying:D It is around $200/mth. I spend that much on groceries and then some $150every week, that's for me and DH and a room-mate.

Do you have any idea if it is worth it?

:D Hey Cindy....It is your lucky day!.....I absolutely LOVE Jenny Craig!.... Their plan is one where you basicly buy the main courses..breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and dessert..and then supplement with fruit and veggies. I lost 47 pounds on Jenny Craig in 2002...only to gain it all back in 2003 (went to HAwaii and ate like a pig).....recently lost 47 on my own and was basicly STUCK at the 47 down for about 8 weeks....so low and behold I got a coupon in the mail for Jenny Craig.

So last Monday I re-joined for four weeks to jump-start my weight loss again. AND....it has worked ...As of this morning ...I have lost 4 more pounds since last Monday.

Why I LOVE the program...........
1. The food is VERY VERY GOOD...there is only a couple of things I found un-eatable.
2. The support is great. They really take their time talking about any problems you are facing...asking you each week...do you have a big social event coming up that week..and helping you plan your menu around it.
3. VERY, VERY convenient. This plan is soooo simple. They even have your grocery list printed out for you each week. I suggest you go with the planned menu to start...because all the food is so good...you can't lose...
 (well..I hope you lose)

4. They encourage physical activity.
5. You can have a meal-off.....if you need it..or if you just want it...like on last Sat....me and dh went to Reb-lobster and ate..I was just wise with my choices. It keeps you structured even if you stray a little...absolutely fabulous!

AND THE MOST IMPORTANT..........................

6. IT TEACHES YOU GOOD EATING HABITS THAT WE ALL SHOULD HAVE LEARNED WHEN WE WERE SMALL......thus making it easy to carry on the diet after you come off the program.

I highly recomment Jenny Craig!....You'd think I work there...but I don't! Oooohhhh!.....You know what....I think last week when I went to the webpage.....their is a coupon for "Join for six weeks for only $36.00."....That is a good deal. Check out the website...I think it ends on March 31?..not sure....

Feel free to ask me any questions....I am a Jenny Expert...

Good Luck.

I did Jenny Craig also but had a differnt experience. I did lose 30 pounds really quick but got very ill from their food. They use a lot (or at least when I did it) olestral (spelling?) which did not agree with me and after a while the food gave me bad diarreaha and vomiting. I do know others that did great on it though so it may of been me. I am funny with food. It's a surprise I'm not 125 - lol. Unfortunately the food that doesn't bother me is the fattening fried stuff. Good luck!!!!!!!

I dont know what you have heard about Atkins and infertility...
I have read studies show Atkins makes you less fertile because you are getting to much protein. You might what to look it up. I know the today show did a special on it in 2004. I watched it cuz I was on Atkins and taking clomid. I was so upset that I had been "messing up " my chances.
I hope this helps you !

Hi Sonya, Thanks for the info...I haven't really looked into it, but I have always understood that protein is a tissue builder and repair, and it aids in follicle growth, and going through an IVF cycle I have read to cut the carbs and increase the protein:shrug: I really thought it was ok b/c my RE is the one who recommended Atkins and he is really fo Atkins...He hs all the books info, etc..That is another reason I didn't think nothing else about it...Thank you so much for the info ;) I will start snooping though.

I did Jenny once. I ate her food and then some. I didn't feel very full. I would better recomend one of those portion control plates. It is real simple and you eat what you like. Its a plate that has just enough room for the correct size portion. You could save money and still lose weight. Drinking the recomended amount of water works wonders too. You have to do it for a few weeks to see it start to happen. Also try not eating anything white or candy. I have recently lost 23 lbs. with one of those diet patches. It is all natural. It has to be a certain brand though. after I lost the first 10 lbs I felt more like walking. Its about 36.00 a month. I still have a long "weigh" to go. I have lost a lot of weight in my life. I can also tell you how gain 20 lbs in a month... its called CLOMID!
Good Luck to you!

Sonya, LOL How to gain 20lbs in a month with Clomid:jester: Me too!! And I can tell you how to gain 70 lbs in 5 months and that would be doing IVF with all the meds it has to offer, plus the stress:o !!

What about the patches, what is the name? I read into somethings about Jenny and it said if you don't have $1000/mth to spend on Jenny don't do it b/c that is how much it is to continue:nono: I can't do that!!!

Cindy,
The patches are caled slim patch. There are a lot of brands out there and they don't work as well. I have had a few patches that didn't stick the full three days that you are supose to wear them but the company stood behind their product and replaced everyone that I didn't get "full" use out of. Here is the site if you would like to read more about it.
http://www.slimpatch.com/
It mentions some health conditions that you should not use it with... so please read!
About the clomid weight gain. I took it for 1 year:( And I took provera to start my cycle. Talk about a feeding frenzy. I had a 5 month break due to endometrial hyperplasia. Had to do 3 months of hormones to get rid of that. I am taking metformin right now. I just got done with my provera so I will be starting the clomid again. I hope it works this time! I think with the weight (23 lbs)and metformin this time the clomid might work.
whewwww That was a mouth full.
So what are you taking ? lol
