:) Dee....reading your story gives me so much hope. I too am over-weight and had a VERY bad first time RE experience last May after ttc for over a year. He basicly told me to starve myself until I lost 100 pounds and then go back and see him. Of couse I did not take his advice. I made up my mind on my own and set a goal to lose 50 pounds before giving Clomid a try...only because I feel that I by no means will be skinny...but I know that I feel so much better at that set weight...and then when I do get pregnant....I will be ok if I gain. Sorry I am rambling:rolleyes: ..but I just got excited when I read all of your posts and now you are pregnant.
After losing 47 pounds, I went to a new doctor...and actually went in today for my Day 3 bloodwork to check my TSH...thyroid..etc. This will be my first time having blood work done. Next week I will have the test to have my tubes checked. And then next cycle....CLOMID. I was wondering if you had the test to check your tubes?....I always have a period but my cycle lengths are long...38-43 days long. So he thinks I don't ovulate?
Congratulations!......I know you will be fine. St. Patrick's Day is your next ultrasound right?

My story is I never got my period on time no matter what weight so I was put on the pill. Now I am pretty heavy but the way my OB felt it isn't a weight issue because at 140 or 230 I have always had this problem. I went to my OBGYN who also is a fertility specialist because with my insurance there is differn't levels of infertility treatment. The first level is covered 100% with just an office copay and any medicines are paid through my prescription plan with a low payment and first level is OBGYN starting you on clomid and other medicines. If that does not work then I would of been referred to a RE for testing and once that happens it's level II and I have a $5,000 max and then if I had to have IVF I am covered 60% for two tries lifetime so needless to say I was going to start with the lowest and just try it out so I had no testing done. I went in June to talk to him and he said to go off the pills and see what happens. Well three months later and nothing happened I went back and was given provera to bring on a period and than clomid, 50mg. and that did nothing so the next month the same provera and 100mg for 5 days and that did nothing so the following month I was given clomid at 100mg for 7 days and that did the treat. I ovulated and got pregnant. I just went for my 12 week check up and saw the baby and the heart so I'm very relieved. There is a lot of hope for everyone. If you go on the pregnancy boards and go into the pregnancy after infertility you will definetely get the hope and inspiration you need. Hang in there and it will happen!!!!! Please keep me posted and thank you for the well wishes.

Congratulations, I am praying I can be as lucky as you are. I did my first cycle of Clomid 50mg and BFN then cycle 2 Clomid 100mg just failed this week and now start cycle three, starting Clomid 150mg on Sat. Why did they have you do 100mg for 7 days instead of a higher dose for just 5 days? I know that I am newer at this but the wait makes me physically ill and I don't know how long I can do this. I actually fainted at an unrelated Dr's on Wednesday! I want this sooooo much and I am fighting deep depression.....Your story helps me fight just a little harder....good luck with your pregnancy!

My Dr. says he has a lot of luck doing 7 days instead of 5 because we may need a few days on it. He said they are just starting to write stuff on instead of 5 days trying 7 days.
Thanks for all the support and congrats!!!!!!!! I really appreciate it.

Dee32, I was just wandering how long after taking the third round of clomid you knew that you were pregnant. I took my third round and ovulated and now I am in the wait period. I am scheduled for bloodwork if I don't AF on April 18th. The wait is hard so since you did it and got a BFP can you give any words of hope? Thank you and congrats!!!!!

Thanks everyone for all the well wishes.
jens_on_c: I made the mistake and took a test the day after my period was due and it came out negative and than I remembered I have to wait 5 days afterwards for a good result and took a test than and got a faint positive but because it wasn't a strong result and because I just couldn't believe I got 5 several differen't brands and took test the next couple of days and got only one more negative and the rest was positive so I called my doctor and came in 5 days later and they took blood and called the next day to confirm the pregnancy. Now I'm 15 weeks.
Good luck and keep me posted on your results. Remember if it doesn't happen this time there is next month!!!! I know it's hard and I was depressed every month I was negative but it happens when it's meant to happen.

Thanks Dee, I am due to start AF on April 18 but my RE gave me bloodwork orders for the 18th if I have not AF yet. I have no idea if it could show up that soon or not. I do know that it shows up about a week earlier in the blood before it will show on a home test. I am just trying to not even think about it. Thanks for your encouragement and I will keep you posted.

Dee, Just wanted to let you know that I had the bloodwork done and I am not pregnant. I started late for the first time in 5 months...go figure. I just wanted to let you know that I am not going back to my RE. Without insurance, I can't afford the injections and U/S that come next. I am letting go of the constant want to be pregnant and I am even getting rid of almost all of my baby things that I bought while holding out hope. I wish you all the best and I look forward to hearing updates from you. If you want to email me you can...jens_on_c@yahoo.com. I will be checking on you, okay? Talk to you later.....Jennie
